The Sweetness of Forgetting by Kristin Harmel

I've just finished reading this marvelous book today.
Even though, the beginning of the story was really slow, I've tried a few times to read it again from the beginning. After dozens of pages i couldn't let go of the book.
The story was captivating and made me teary from time to time.
I knew from the start it might be a heart wrenching story, due to the fact that per the synopsis the protagonist was supposed to go on a journey where she finds out more about her family, of the time she never knew that her grandmother spent at her hometown in Paris, France, her life, her siblings. the protagonist is a courageous woman who starts a courageous journey to find the truth about her grandmother's life and family.
While unravelling intriguing parts of her lives, that would make her nights become sleepless due to all the thoughts that are clouding her mind, she learns about herself and her family, and figures out some very important life lessons along the way.

“Life doesn't work out the way we plan, but maybe it works out the way it's supposed to after all.”
